For this project I wanted to associate motion with pleasure and playfulness by referring to the traditional top and to the kaleidoscope. Each PIROUETTE is composed of a wooden base manufactured by a lathe and enveloped in a faceted cape made from a sheet of polished copper.

Once the top is twirling, the environment is mirrored and light scattered by its bezeled metal surface
Through the motion of PIROUETTE a game of light, reflection and rotation begins.

The three different top sizes offer unique effects depending on the size and the slope of the copper cape.
I like to think of PIROUETTE as a family of little dancing characters, all of which reflect our surroundings differently.
