'permesso' by inci evren sarıalioğlu from turkey
designer's own words:
'permesso'is an alternative way of expressing the international 'please do not disturb' sign, combined with the door handle. it offers a new habit of usage for door handles with the help of using the international color code for telling to 'stop' instead of hanging cardboard signs or locking the door. when the color code part is in its horizontal and half-hidden position, it's a typical re-styled door handle. if the user/s inside the room wants some privacy, he/they may 'switch on' the color code to its vertical position, meaning 'i/we do not want to be disturbed'. 'permesso' could be a nice and an aesthetic solution to private and public places, expressing the attitude in such a silent and gentle way.
