panta rei by michele marin from italy
designer's own words:
"panta rei", everything flows.
from decorativism to minimalism: along the line of a single handle, you can see the historical evolution of styles.
here, these two opposite styles are merged in the same door handle.
///
this door handle represents the synthesis of a reflection on the changing of aesthetical tastes during the different historical periods.
in technical terms, the originary thinking is objectified by a 3D "loft" technique, or a section changing along the handle body.
the first section (= decorativism) could refer to the classical columns, while the last one (= minimalism) could refer to rationalist columns.
it could be produced by moulding. the handle is made of satin metal (chrome or golden), while the other elements (like roses and keyholes) are made of glossy (chromed or golden) metals. so, roses reflect the detail of "column-style" section.
