Pallares chair is the result of a research conducted by the Department of Design at the University of Nariño (Colombia), to develop new materials from natural fibers in the region. The Pallares chair compile the research work on new material since June 2005. The design selection was made in August 2007, but it was possible to be elaborated since November 2008. This research project has developed a new composite from natural fiber Tetera (Stromanthea luthea) and polyester resin as an alternative to diversify into new production processes and introduction of products for craftsmen and designers using this fiber.
Pallares chair consists of three interchangeable parts and independent under the concept of articulated mobile system to cancel the degrees of freedom of its modules, which allows easy assembly and disassembly and easy storage of the chair.
Pallares chair is a design intended to be used in school buildings with little space for children aged 3 to 5 years.
