orizzonte

orizzonte by daniele barosi from italy

designer's own words:

the idea at the base of “orizzonte” comes from the observation of nature; we also carefully looked at essential and clean-shaped handles, designed in the past by great design masters.
a cylinder and a parallelepiped, two forms that graft together, creating a single element and symbol, recall the image of the sun at dusk, reflecting in the sea. a semicircle and its projection, separated by a line, look like the sinking sun and the horizon, and become heart and lever of the handle.
“orizzonte” is made in die cast brass, with two possible finishes: chrome and mat chrome.
we also thought at the possible variations of the handle so as to create a complete set, especially focusing our attention on dk, window, and pull handles. the symmetry of “orizzonte” facilitated the creation of the vertical versions. in designing the different elements of the series, we tried to achieve the best harmony between them, still not forgetting to adjust every single object to the intended use.
