the handle door uses commonly marketed mechanical parts. the vertical part of the lever that mounts on the mechanism is a flat base with two round sides. each side has the same center but different radius. the inner side with the large radius draws a cycle with the same radius as the rose plate. by turning the handle it moves on the orbit of the rosette. it has a gentle touch and a gentle move.
the thickness of the rosette is designed to be 10mm but if the mounting plate is thinner then the rose plate could be manufactured 7mm thick.
