ONEder board by gil renov from israel
designer's own words:
The project aims to help
people that can only use one hand in the process of basic food preparation, like cutting fruit and vegetables,
spreading butter or moving the content of the board to a plate.
The board offers a method of cutting in half globular or elongated shaped fruit or vegetables,
making the rest of the cutting process much stabler and easier with no need for My goal was to make a desirable universal object that can benefit all users, while using sustainable materials in a smart and aesthetic way.
I decided to combine two materials bamboo and TPE (thermoplastic elastomer)
in a way that would apply the advantages of the production process of each of them.
The bamboo is processed in CNC but in 2 axis instead of 3 which makes it much faster
and cheaper. The TPE is injected in 3 small parts that interlock and fuse with the bamboo .
The result is a contemporary combination of materials.
