designer's own words:

I think the integration of every people, whatever their physical difference, will be one of the main preoccupations of the future society. A lot of testimonies show that handicapped people want to be considered like everybody, with a normal professional life and private life. Design can make easier this integration. It can propose tools which facilitate some difficult act, and especially it can make banal their use.
I decide to think about handicapped parents' problems, because this subject is not much approached, there is a lack of material solutions. However it's a main subject for the integration's issue. Indeed, when you are accepted as a parent, you are considered as competent, responsive, protective, able to pass down your value or way of life. It influences the society's gaze, and the self-confidence.
In this project, I want to make easier the act of feeding the baby with only one hand, in order to enjoy this complicity and sharing moment. It's useful for the handicapped parents and for the grandparents who can have problems with their gripping ability. This cutleries recreates the shape of a bird beak, to become a game between the parent and the baby. Moreover, the suppleness of the elastomer allows to feel the mastication movements of the baby's mouth, with the fingertips, so this object can interest all parents who want to feel this moment of discovery.
It's not designed like an external tool, which fill a lack of competence. It's an extension of the body, which offer new abilities, like containing, scraping and cutting. This is a new way to consider the handicap, with proposing alternative funny gestures that everybody can use.
