Nous: philosophical term for the faculty of the human mind (Greek) _ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nous
Arium: A container or storage; a place where something is done_ cms.herbalgram.org/commissione/glossaryab.html
Architecture must augment biologically and synthetically extended life through [space] responsive to our next level of consciousness (nous). Technology, while not traditionally or aesthetically associated with eternal space, provides the tools + Passi Perduti -lost footsteps- for architecture’s evolution as a prosthetic, spiritual, and haptic environment, a sentient vessel towards our imminent existence (arium).
A Nousarium is the conception of architectural space for the immersion in and adulation of the processes of growth and life both physically and artificially. This work is not a critique of technology and it's place within the discourse, but of the act of aesthetic contribution and communication between pain, pleasure, and love. The architecture provides us with a new awareness of our vulnerabilities, those which are related to time and environmental factors. If we wish to act confidently in the world and progress to an evolved state of consciousness (emulation), we have to get to know ourselves better, for that we rely on our constructions to augment our cultural singularities. The fragility of human existence is compounded in method by the infiltration of natural forces and resources, all vying for the attention of our bodies’ biological markers. No longer are we designing self-referential objects in space for the remembrance/concretization of death, but ones rooted in the sublimity of a dream-like passageway, rendered in the processional imagination of the active inhabitant.
Constructing a Nousarium means your interaction with technology can be through an interface or material that is appropriate to the information rather than the interface itself. Your death becomes resurrection through a tangible substrate that your loved ones can interact and grow with for years to come. Memories once lost are now recorded and displayed through the direct connection of brain to environment.
“The best technology could do is to help you create the conditions under which your love could flourish and grow indefinitely, unencumbered by the erosive forces of current material and psychological conditions. “ _Nick Bostrom

And so they stand, erect, their backs to the forest, tuning the very circuit that is their kin, breathing the fresh morning air as it meanders through the small reflective spheres of dew; they ask themselves; which of us exists, the saturation of beauty in a sense driven world, or the freedom of knowledge in an environment optimized for longevity. And just as the sun rays escape from the mask of leaves, activating small receptors on the backs of their exposed necks, they understand. Life is no longer defined in carbon or pulse of light but in the translation of a language eternal. This space has given them their past, their present, and the tools for the conception of their future.
