the handle is made of two volumes, the main in your hand and the second makink the connection between the handle and the door. horizontal and vertical make the main volume of the handle. all of the four sides have the same shape. in one way, the palm push the handle on the large horizontal side, and in another way the thumb has the contact of the large vertical side to pull the door easily.
a hollow of one milimetre makes the connection between the two volumes.
