muffa

muffa by francisco salis gomes from portugal

designer's own words:

“muffa” is the latin word for "mold". this name was given due to the objective of this exercise and the approach we took before the problem: how to innovate the design of such object.

muffa is a set of geometric shapes, molded so as to obtain a solid out of the ordinary. having a parallelepiped as a starting point and re-arranging the usual location of its vertices, was obtained an innovative and logical shape. its parts, with their elegant structure, end in sharp corners followed by new curved surfaces, forming an ergonomic handle. its structural lines give the object a new simplicity. “less is more”: that is precisely what we tried to achieve.

we have chosen a few possible surface finishing for muffa, in line with colombo design, plus some innovative solutions: chrome, silver, stainless steel, cast iron, metallic silver, aluminum, mat gold and metallic gold. these materials may not be totally realistic. the renders were only meant to resemble your own catalogue materials.

this new handle is a valuable asset to your versatile catalogue since it gathers all the qualities requested and maintains a simple, yet, unusual design.
