In this project, the series works including two different mobile objects are designed to capture the substances given by Nature.
Nature is always changing ubiquitously, the way the nature expresses itself is so vivid, dynamic and unpredictable. As the human beings who have been the consciousness receivers for such a long time, Nature is triggering us in both physical and mentality, and the only approach for us to get the balance within is to give the response to it and interact in harmony.
The first mobile device is a sculpture hanged upon the ceiling, which is composed of the sets of dichromic glasses which are calculated and arranged by its’ weights, meanwhile the whole mobile swims against the gravity and generates the random color shadows which are reflected the light coming from the different perspectives.
The other one is composed of two mobile dichromic glasses. Its interacted and interdepended glasses embody the existence of nature light surrounding us, coming with the shadows enhance the viewers’ consciousness.
The material : Dichroic glass is glass which displays two or more different colors by undergoing a color change in certain lighting conditions.
Thanks to the attribute of dichromic glass, Viewers can take in the enriched colors changing constantly from different perspective of views, and the reflected shadows coming in random colors also trigger the viewers’ unexpected emotion.
The motion of the device resonates to the nature’s groove, It is not only about the self’s movement, but also the involvement the viewers’ emotions are in and become the part of the nature. The unknown display of nature lighting and the motion of artificial object multiply the unexpected emotion of viewers.
While participating, interacting and learning how to respond to the nature properly, we will realize that’s not necessary to anticipate what is imminent. It is supposed to focus on the present, to enjoy the every moment we are at.
Nature is keeping on moving forward, so are we.
