designer's own words:
Monolith3 : The Kitchen of the Future.
Aesthetically, The Kitchen of the Future is made up of three separate modules finished in Corian “Nocturne”, a black, shiny material, and vitro ceramic glass. When the kitchen is not in use, but on standby, the minimalist design presents itself more as a piece of sculpture than as a kitchen.
From a functional perspective, Monolith3 is an innovative concept. The kitchen consists of the following three modules.
-the automatic food & kitchen utensil storage:
The automatic food & kitchen utensil storage module allows the user to choose a menu from the touch screen of a preprogrammed computer integrated into the module, automatically assembling the necessary ingredients, as well as the necessary utensils, cookware, and small appliances from storage within the module and delivering them via a moving shelf.
-the cooking module:
The cooking module follows the same principles as the automatic food & kitchen utensil storage module ; according to the menu that is chosen from the touch screen, the necessary appliances and workstations are extracted, illuminated, and preset, such as the temperature of the oven.
-the table module:
The table module is composed of a table with integral seating and a rotating storage unit on either end of the table where the tableware is arranged. After submitting your request on the touch screen, the module is transformed and the desired number of seating and place settings is extracted ; each place setting is equipped with a touch screen available to view independently or collectively a DVD or post the current edition of the electronic newspaper.
