mono, multi, circular

mono, multi, circular by fredrick reeder from usa

designer's own words:

several lever types are presented: multi, mono and circular. the designer is a practicing, licensed architect who has specified lever handles for thousands of doors.

all levers in this group would be cast in stainless steel, bronze or brass, in standard colombo finishes. some levers would have grasping, soft surfaces in neoprene, silicone or polyurethane, for example. various resilient materials could be offered in a range of colors. soft material adds comfort, warmth to touch, and responsive give on contact, while metal is required for structure. the resultant contrast in color adds visual interest, indicates grip area, and accentuates three dimensional modeling.

mono levers self explain. multi-levers provide multiple grasping surfaces and would be about the diameter of large door knobs. the appearance of these multi-lever handles is somewhere between conventional lever handles and knobs, and they provide a unique, crisp presence while being completely functional. the circular lever centroid is asymmetric with the handle pivot axis so, with finger and thumb detents in the ring, the lever action is clear.
