MOLEskine

MOLEskine by alexis lee from usa

designer's own words:

the logo i decided to pursue depicted the sense pf importance moleskine has to me. i created the piece in india ink and pen, the way i love to work on the heavy weight paper in my moleskine sketchbook i call "the book of me". in the notebooks and pages that we, the individuals, create, i firmly believe that moleskine helped salvage what was unfortunately a dying tradition. through use and attention, the notebook evolves outside of its material worth and become a significant, faithful companion. Free of judgment they offer a silent comfort to our subconscious.

to create the distinction between the literal skeletal form and the moleskine product, i feel that the ribcage of the mole becomes the pages of the books he sits on in. in this way it evoked the significance of books printed on bones in the ancient methods in the way that moleskine remains a historic and symbolic figure throughout an expansive time period.
