molded strass

molded strass by daniel meise from austria

designer's own words:

little pieces of strass are scattered into a thick layer
of transparent material

the thickness of the tiles allow a 3dimensionality
and distort the boundaries of the room:
the wall de-materializes, resolves into space

joints should be filled with transparent sillicone
or material similar to the mold, to enhance the illusion

if you use black fillings
you create a mesh around the room

...

this technic can easily be used for making tiles,
but it also allows to contruct large panels
(e.g. 1000 x 2000 mm or bigger) for joint-less panelled walls

these panesl can be used for any purpose you wish
their thickness and hardness depending on the mold you use
