match it open

match it open by julian jones from uk

designer's own words:

the handle consists of a linear design which merges three basic pieces without losing each specific function and identity. it is built up of thin chromed plates stacked on top of each other creating horizontal carvings all around it. similar carvings can be found in the fixed pieces on the door. in order to open the door, the carvings from the handle have to match with the ones of the fixed piece at the door’s surface when rotating it, like a very simple puzzle which has to be solved to make the object work. a simple and robust shape with some added kinks to show the continuity of the carvings in all pieces.
