designer's own words:

This door handle is very present, with generous dimensions, inhancing the grip and the contact with the hand.
Cork is currently used in several kinds of grips, usually in technical applications, such as sports. In this case, cork allows for a comfortable and warm touch.
The choice of cork aglomerate for the handle, also allows variations in colors and grain sizes, creating more interest in this nice simple shape, matching it to the intended environment.
The use of cork aglomerate is also very significant from an ecological point of view, since it is made from the left overs from other cork products and Cork itself is only bark, not damaging the tree in its extraction (there are cork oaks reaching over 200 years old).
All its component are symetrical, making the production and assembly very simple. Pairing this with the ecological benefits creates this very versatile handle able to adapt to any environment, promoting a very special experience from the moment you open the door.
