the lotus system is comprised of 2 basic units, the seat and it's foot rest (which can also be used as an indepedent stool). each of them in made out of a similar shape, duplicated 6 times. the pieces are attached to one another by a stitch along one end (once to the right, once to the left), which acts as the pivot axis. when fully opening both elements like a fan, one shape goes into the other, and together they create a flower-like floor mattress.
