LOLO by gianita kadarisman from canada
designer's own words:
lolo is another offering from my post-accident design epiphany. an invalid hand, wrapped in metal for the time being, is a source of inspiration to me. daily chores such as opening and closing the door has become a minor hassle, and i wonder what kind of door handle would be easy to use with my present state of health.
l-shaped, lolo has just the right amount of up turn that will keep the hand, healthy or incapacitated, in place comfortably.
the squareness of its shape relates to the dependability according to the psychology of form, and the grooves re-assert the idea of traction and slippery proofing.
ideally, it is made of aluminum with brushed steel finish or even chrome to give it that extra sleek look. however, other metal finishes would be suitable as well.
