Implementation of the LG OLED technology in the urban realm, as an application to further the urbanity of cities and setting a precedent for a revolution within the working and functioning of cities.
In direct response to maintenance, a part of the project consist in the implementation of the LG Display OLED light in street crosswalks, also known as “zebra crossings” in urban centers. The paint that is used wares off with use and weather, which is why with the flexibility, light weight and strength of the OLED´s, pedestrians and cars would be able to cross with no harm to the panels. Visibility within the area of the crosswalk would increment and need for additional lighting would not be needed. Well lit streets have been shown to bring exponential benefits for cities and pedestrians. The panels would change colors for stop and go times.
The functionality of the OLED panel, gave an idea on how this panel and its light source could also be used in self driving cars. OLED´s would be placed along roads in the middle of lanes, the panel would be integrated with a sensor as the car, and the car would navigate the road driverless by following the OLED´s. Not only would this implementation revolutionize cities but also the transportation industries.
I believe the great functionality of the OLED´s are capable of being use in bigger schemes.
