Light The Night by Darren Rooney from ireland
designer's own words:
This is my prototype design for a clip on bike light. The light has no fixing bracket as in its design it simply pushes on to the bar of a bike. The unique design allows for easy fitting and removal for safety reasons. it is an OLED light embedded in a rubber housing formed to keep its shape but pliable enough to be pushed over any bar. Looking at the OLED light technology I looked at different sectors that could benefit from this and then developed the bike light which produce 250 degree of light for the rider. This greatly improve their safety on the road and increases visibility.
The main body of the light is made out of a mouldable rubber that is rigid enough to keep its shape but flexibly enough to stretch to fit on to a bar of a bike. There is a small removable battery pack incorporated into the light that can easily be removed with a simple catch. Battery used will be a standard lithium ion battery pack. And a standard push button is fitted to the opposite side to turn the device on and off with 3 pre-set setting to toggle through. The OLED simply fits into the light under a rubber bead that is moulded into the design which also works as protection for the OLED from impact.
