Life from a different perspective by Tom Kendrick from uk
designer's own words:
My interpretation of curiosity was to view the world from a different perspective. Most humans are a similar height and most of us have experienced looking down on life from height such as the top of a tall building but not many of us have experienced life from right on the ground. From this I have created a video camera that explores the world from a ground level view much like that of a mouse or small animal. The device roams freely as it is capable of avoiding obstacles and does not get stuck. It also doubles up as a webcam which helps make this product not only interesting but practical as well. Although the concept has a glossy metallic finish realistically the camera's casing would have to be made from a thermoplastic elastomer to provide strength and durability. The electronic and mechanical components for this device would be relatively cheap as they are common components. The expense would come with the camera as it would have to be small which usually ends up being expensive and ideally the product would have at least a 720p HD camera. I think this product has potential as it could be developed further to include a camera or have a user interface so it could be switched between video and photographs on the go.
