My design for small wood chair entitled by The Liberty, has two components:
1. Body
2. Soul

Psychology behind the Name:

A human wants freedom for his Body and Soul. This fact is valid in any part of The World.
Today, in the era of democracy, everyone has right to live with the liberty.
My design is dedicated to freedom in daily life style like Studying, Rest, TV watching or Working. So I address my design as Liberty and it’s both part as Body and Soul.

A message of Simplicity: No mechanism involved in the design.
The basic need for a chair is a Support to the user’s body with an altitude. Liberty fulfills the need.

A message of Compactness: A product made human life comfortable because of its multifunction and compactness, The Liberty also has these features.

A message of Innovation: Same as Innovation is the main ingredient of technology like Sony Walkman which changed the definition of entertainment during journey, The Liberty also innovated for multipurpose use depending on the user’s need, mood, space and time.

Structure:

Body and Soul, these two parts would be in wood only. I preferred Cedar wood for the chair because of it’s color and finish.

Body is the bigger part, which would be placed on the floor. Body has four uniform slots
on its upper surface where second part Soul would be inserted.
The Soul is a small part, which works as a support for the user.
Four slots on the body have orientation of 20 and 70 degree respectively from the
Vertical.

How to use?

There is not limited type of uses with this chair.
The user of different age group and nationality would discover it time by time.

I found out following main uses of the Liberty:

a. For Sitting, when Soul is inserted at the slot of 20 degree from vertical.
b. For Lying, when Soul is inserted at the slot of 70 degree from vertical.
c. a and b from opposite direction.
d. Sitting on the Liberty without the Soul.
e. While sitting on the ground, Liberty may be used as small table.

Dimensions

The height of the Body is 16 Inches so it may be used as table also.
The length of the Liberty is 36 Inches and width is 22 Inches.
This dimension is suitable with following anthropometrical data for Asian people:

Male- Shortest- Average- Tallest
