lepidoptera – fly away little moth!

lepidoptera – fly away little moth! by thomas noschka from germany

designer's own words:

for this project i decided to use examples from the library of processing. The fondation is the simulation of flocks, which fly in the respective size. the idea is to integrate a hit counter, so if my mouse were hit by a flock, something else must be done – in this case it comes an game-over screen. it is very nice and funny but not really interactive. so i decided to use the webcam of each computer. the brightnesstreacking from the processing library was a perfect basis to integrate it in my game. so to control lepidoptera (the moth and figure of this game) you must play with a flashlight or laserpointer. by the way you can see on one screenshot an interaction with a mobilphone which lights with the camera. the hole game was made with processing and the graphics in photoshop cs3.

I think that this game is a nice possibility to interact with an computer. furthermore there is a huge motivation by beating the highscore. people of any age hve fun – i am sure!
