LAPIS HEADSET: I liked to work on an icon, on something different from the “bionic and tech” image headsets usually had. The pencil behind the ear is a symbol both of industry and precision, it is an icon of ability: these are values I wanted to communicate, values I see in all Plantronics products. The pencil shape is friendly and it helped me to play down the serious attitude sometimes all these electronic devices give us. The product looks at the same time cool and high, clean, simple and minimal.
CONCERTINA SPEAKER: I never liked the visible “cut”, the hole to insert Ipod very often speakers had. I liked clean shapes and I have tried to make something to solve it. The product in its rest position can be connected to a pc and used as a traditional speaker. The speakers can be moved like an accordion by a lever to set free the place to insert your Ipod. In this way all the connection can be protected when the product doesn’t work. Concertina speaker is designed to be set in two different position: it can be hanged on a wall like a picture or placed on a table as a traditional photo frame.
