Lamda by alexandros stasinopoulos from greece
designer's own words:
lamda is an experimentation of a metallic transformable door handle. there are cases that some spaces and therefore their doors either are rarely used or there is this need in public spaces to make some areas more private and in a sense to create small obstacles for people to enter these spaces. the question therefore is why to have a door lever hanging there and expecting, or even welcoming, people to use it, when we do not use it or when we do not want other people to use it.
for this reason, the lever when in not in use, is stored in a vertical to the ground position and with the rest of the system, they create a uni-body volume. the lever is secured in this vertical position with a magnet.
