LAG by DFI-Kitagawa from japan

designer's own words:

I believe that anticipation is the ability to predict the future from past information.
This “past information” is the accumulation of all the information up until that moment. It can also be our casual mannerisms just moments before something happens. Humans are always taking in information, both consciously and unconsciously, and from that they anticipate “next = the future” and act upon that.

For that reason, I have designed a digital mirror that displays the recent past through a time lag using a camera and digital image processing.
People who view the mirror can see their “past selves.”
With this device, viewers can see the “past” in real time, allowing them to be aware of the past as the present. As the viewer stands in front of the mirror in the present, they begin to become aware of the "future."
Due to the “fascinating time lag” created by this device, it becomes routine for people to become aware of the future and as a result they are able to hone their sensations of anticipation of the future.
