KPop Sneakers by Klaudia Ser from usa
designer's own words:
KPop has been a huge craze over the recent years not only in Korea but also worldwide. In response, I wanted to make a sneaker that represented KPop visually and also interactively. Kpop has a certain aesthetic and sound that captures anyone's attention no matter what language or culture. This powerful characteristic amazes me as it create awareness for KPop and also allows everyone to enjoy the songs and the visuals of KPop.
In relation to dancing and music, Dance Dance Revolution was one of my focuses and inspirations for this sneaker. While DDRs is in control of the player, this sneaker allows the wearer to be in control of their own groove and visuals. The LEDs are connected to a pressure sensor pad in the sole of the sneakers. When the wearer dances to the tune, which will be playing from a speaker contained in the shoes, it will control the LEDs matching to the beat of the wearer.
The sneaker is made from leather using a pattern I developed and I hand cut and sewn. The sole and the metal hardware are outsourced, which are stitched on to the sneaker.
