kochi muziris biennale foundation office by NURUKARIM from india
designer's own words:
the 'kochi-muziris biennale foundation office', a preparation and coordination space in Mumbai which will serve the upcoming biennale event in kerala, india. the international exhibition features the artwork of the country's top artists in the form of installations as well as workshops and educational seminars. dedicated areas for the director, coordinators, managers and interns are configured within a quad cluster organization which is then divided with corridors of screens. the shoulder-height partitions offer both privacy and a setting for collaboration with conference rooms and a cafe.
the white panels were digitally fabricated from the lightweight and easily molded material ABS, also known as acrylonitrile butadiene styriene. water droplets were tested in 3D real-time environments to analyze and replicate patterns created by their viscosity, friction, surface tension properties. the forms were then injected or extruded to form the visible blob-like skin of recessed or protruding spheres.
