designer's own words:

The Message for Esthetic Senses: The reality is an order pervaded by a continuous metamorphosis, where things renounce to precise distinctions. Each object becomes a fulcrum able to attract what is close to and, at the same time, able to trigger various combinations that transform the reality in a shamed landscape.
Kiri special characters: the cut as a compositive action directed to broaden out the object in the surrounding context. We aim at reaching an enlarged order, where inside and outside join, where start and finish exchange each others their-own roles.
Starting from this principle, Kiri is created with birchen plywood, black lacquered, which has bent to obtain a sinuous profile and the static balance of the arch: it’s a kind of seat where straddling, leaning or simply amusing.
The shape is characterized by a deep slit that splits the seat into two different parts (the first is twice larger than the other). At the end of the slit we can found the element that generated it: it’s a curvilinear bar, carved in a solid durmast (recollection of the bokken or of the katana). The bar crosses the entire section and it acts as bracket, jutting out of the shape.
