KIMOGRAPHY by CGBQ from spain
designer's own words:
I think today, regardless of our religion or beliefs, there’s no other place like Hospitals to get in contact with the cycle of life and the illusory chain that connects past and future. Hospitals are the contemporary temples of hope and that’s why health rooms are the scenerio of my proposal. If doctors save lives, they might save Tradition.
My project is called KIMOGRAPHY and is the result of what I call a cultural radiography.
The kimono industry, which produces one of the most enduring cultural symbols of Japan, is a broken body. We don’t need gamma rays to understand that. To be part of its recovery I set forth a concept that propose the use of an alternative and recyclable kimono in medical areas. I made up two non woven garments made in polypropylene, generally used as desiccant packaging or composite of products. They feel smooth, are environmental friendly, disposable and non-toxic.
But most importantly, they are a sustainable and a suitable reminder of Japanese legacy.
