KIDONO

KIDONO by Liam Saletti from sweden

designer's own words:

In this project KIDONO we want to create something to wear but also something that positively contribute to peoples life.
We walk in Stockholm, Sweden and realize how people handle their kids and how some of the warmness and closeness that a kid needs have gone lost.
With inspiration from the kimono we create a oversized carrying jacket as an answer.

The idéa is that you can fold it and carry you small child close to your body, you also share the body temperature and garment with your child. For sustainability it’s also possible to look amazing with the jacket even when your child is not with you, or have grown up.

The garment features lot of beautiful fabric for sharing with your child.
A folding system for easy and ergonomic configuration into child carrier.
Is warming but adapted for layering and customisaton of heat, the garment is not in itself enough for cold weather.
An overlapping fold that also keeps your child safe.

Isn’t it the new generation and how we treat them that affects how tradition and knowledge is passed on through time?
