KAHL

KAHL by milena krais from germany

designer's own words:

The products of the KAHL-Collection are anything but hairless. Hair-like fibre in different colors was used
to form objects which deliver a message to its viewers. It‘s all about body hair. Shaving and epilation
is nothing modern. Already in ancient times people wanted to be hair-free for aesthetic and religious
reasons. However nowadays, hair removal has become a compulsive duty in our society. In contrast
to long and well kept hair, unshaved legs and armpit hair has become unaccepted and repulsive in
the public opinion. For many people chest hair and hairs around the intimate zone are no longer imaginable.
Synthetic fibre is transformed into material. Smooth, braided or as a carefully stitched surface.
From this variety of diverse synthetic hair a textile surface is created which serves as the basis when
further developing the collection. KAHL products shine a light on the beautyness of natural hair which
has been overlooked and forgotten today to make it a subject of discussion. That way KAHL products
play with our ambivalent view about hair.
