July Flower is a two dimensional interactive flower animation design created by Processing programing language. The flower graphics consists of 5 layers, total 81 petals. The number of petals in each layer is according to Fibonacci sequence. Every petal is simulated by the Bezier formula, and the path of the floating petal is following the spiral trajectory. The features of the flower (size, shape, color … etc) can be changed in real time. It can be controlled by IoT (Internet of Things) sensors/devices or real-time environment data (such like temperature, humidity … etc) through IoT technology, and reflects the situation of the data. For example, the color of the flower can be varied with the current weather condition.
The growth of July Flower is different from the ordinary flowers in nature. It starts from a petal falling into the center of the screen, and becomes larger by more petals clustering together. When it grows to the biggest flower, the petals dissipate, and finally it returns to the initial state. The growth cycle repeats again and again. I hope this process could inspire my friends and let them get positive energy.
