INTERICHEN by 浅野翔 from japan
designer's own words:
INTERICHEN has the power to sustain our health from textile and fashion in the future. The textile, which fiber is made with minerals, works our body and mind in response to our status as a wearable sensor.
The concept of INERICHEN is inspired by lichen, which is a kind of symbiosis fungus living with algae. The former bacterium works as a structure, and the latter as an energy source by photosynthesis. The shape of INTERICHEN expressed more usual looks sensor as pleats and drapes made by the traditional craft technic in Arimatsu, Japan, and a pleasure to wear wearable something on our body.
We believe that health status sustains by not medicine but daily behavior. Food, clothing and shelter will be closer connection, like their bacteria interaction, developed by technological innovation of both wearablilty and mineral fiber.
