Brings the outside elements in.
Two different materials sliding past each other, using their relative positions to create a change of state within the door. These different states allow the door to continue to be a safety and privacy barrier, yet it can be opened up to allow air/ light into the space behind.
The door allows you play with light creating patterns inside the hall way during the day. At night the door becomes more welcoming when arriving home with the light shining out through the patterned.
The pattern on the door could be customised accordingly- it does not have to be a tree, a range could be developed. It is created by cutting/extruding the pattern into the wood of the door.
