designer's own words:

metal machined surfaces combined with roll forming, bending, and stamping are all processes that are used to create the interior elements of door handles. the user never gets in touch with these mechanical parts, and is instead often given a softer interface. this concept explores the idea of taking the interior aesthetic of the handle, and bringing it out for the user to interact with. this experience can create an awareness of the quality and craftsmanship that are part of the handle assembly, but rarely seen or appreciated.
