What if we could bring the cherry blossom experience into the city?
The vibrant colours, the filtered light, the organic shapes... All together in contrast with the city.
Walking down the hill from the castle where nature dominates Matsuyama, the installation aims to attract visitors and establish a meeting point adecuated to organise celebrations and thematic festivals. Also, it enhances the existing space making it more vibrant and colorful, inviting people to pass by and get inmersed in this new experience within the city.
Located at Okaido's northern entrance,a floral arch invites to enter and enjoy this cross.
This spatial installation consists on a simple mesh structure of concentric archs and thin cables where the flowers lean on. The arcade has a mirrored surface in form of a base surface. This allows; the arcade to be stable,the structure to be independent of the existing pavement and to double the floral perception on the floor as well.
Our proposal is versatile in time and space: the arcade also attract visitors at night , forming a constellation of lights and flowers for people to enjoy under the night's wing.
Nevertheless, this immersive installation will let citizens explore the floral sensation not only itself but also in different contexts , offering all kind of events like concerts, exhibitions...
The unforgettable immersive floral installation will show the flower sensations from the heart of Matsuyama to all over the world.
