h.u.t. is designed to be a no-frills/low-tech package in order to reduce cost and increase survivablity. it incorporates an integrated fold-out bed and tent that can be assembled in seconds. the main bin, which can be accessed from above, may be used for storing recyclables. a pull-out personal storage drawer that can be accessed from outside when traveling or from within the tent when camped. hooks are provided for additional storage. h.u.t.'s body and storage bins are made of molded plastic. the tent fabric is a coated nylon taffeta. tent poles are aluminum. wheels are anodized steel and rubber. hooks and main handle are anodized steel. bed mattress is a medium density foam.
