Hive by philip de los reyes from usa

designer's own words:

seeing beautiful gardens with old and unsteady hives, this designer decided to make a simple, functional hive that would compliment urban and suburban landscapes.

this hive concept was designed drawing on Philip’s background in furniture design and with a nod towards its architectural function. the aesthetics draw on a mix of architectural design elements from clapboard siding on new england homes to the monolithic stances of brutalist architecture.
hive is designed to make use of self-skinning foam plastics that provide balance between strength, light-weight and effective thermal insulation (something the bees will appreciate in colder climates). usability is also addressed through the modular interlocking stacking system and integrated handles surrounding the hive boxes.
