Principle
Would you not want to know who the parents of your grandparents were ? and their parents relatives ? Informations, traces and memories are distorted, lost over the years, leaving only a vague and superficial representation of our ancestors. "Heritage" is a questioning about the ability to connect with our descendants. To be able to bequeath your personal information so they can see you, meet you, chat with you, even many years after your disappearance.
To exist, to show that we exist and to leave a trace of our existence is, in our contemporary society, an accessible need filled by social networks, blogs and other mass media. However, faced with the abundance, vagueness and sometimes false personal information that we can file online, the question of the usefulness and future interest of this information arises. What will become of this information agglomerate's that don't belong to us anymore? That we can't control, select or delete anymore ?
"Heritage" is a medium to select, sort and group personal information in order to bequeath to his descendants (thus, you’ll have to to select what is really important about your experience and your personality).
This book shaped object is a symbolic biography, it is an object containing digital and analog information (like sentimental small object) that will be physically transmits to your descendants.

Project Features
Built in ceramic and glass, the book contains the digital and physical data bequeathed by the user. It contains a flash memory and a compartment. The Book is the object to be transmitted to future generations, so it's designed with durable materials to withstand time.
The bookmark is the intermediary for communication between the book and the digital objects used at the time it will be read. The bookmark is a product destined to become obsolete and thus be changed to adapt to changing technologies.
In contemporary usage, it consists of a battery, a Bluetooth connection and a digital connection port with the book. This connection port is the only factor allowing the bookmark to connect to the book, it will be present on all future generations of bookmarks
The digital interface, dependent on technology and reading materials in progress, it is intended to evolve in time and when it will be used.

Usage Scenario
The user decides the first digital and analog elements he wishes to convey. By connecting via the bookmark, the user is guided through the interface to create a story. It will thus be prompted to create an identity card, a general biography, writing short stories about his passions, anecdotes, to comment the objects deposited in the book, to integrate multimedia files ... and maintain it, add and supplement this information during its lifetime. Our descendants that are in possession of the book, may then access the book by connecting through a bookmark suitable technology.
