hands on handles, hands IN door hadles

hands on handles, hands IN door hadles by diego laguia martinez from spain

designer's own words:

it is a well established conception that a door handle is an element attached to the door that has to be grabbed by the hand. the dual possibility of the perception, the first impression and its negative as well, introduced by the gestalt, used to make the shape appealing by itself. the handle becomes not something to grab but grabbing.

the average height of the human population is increasing by 1,5-2 cm per generation. because of new requirements for positioning the handles higher, existing doors will become unusable. Instead, a solution is proposed.
