handle calla

handle calla by lara vandoni from italy

designer's own words:

our modern society it's tecnological but at the some time it's looking to what is organic and sustainable and nature becomes a source of meaning.
the basic idea of our proposal starts from the reinterpretation of the natural shape of calla (arum-lily) and our goal is to develop a comfortable, functional and elegant handle having a modern and linear design. a project, bearing well-designed sinuous forms, centralised on its functional and ergonomic characteristics.
the forms, which draw “calla”, have been thought so as to create a comfortable handle which recalls the shape of an half-closed hand; whereas its linear form, connected with its daily use, gives an exclusive elegance to the interior or outside contest where it is placed.
it will be made of alluminium, which is fully recyclable, on the outside it will be satinated and in the inside it will be chromed, thus creating a game of lights and shades which underlines its dynamic and modern design.
this material and its thickness makes it very strong and the shape itself it's helping that.
there will be one version of plate with two detached oval plates.
this handle could be used both for left, right and double hand doors and windows.
