GREEN VIRUS



Change of city paradigm and life of city people



Business people living in Seoul city amount to the half or more of the whole population of Seoul city. In Seoul, where multistory office buildings stand close together, many people spend their time of six days at their offices. However, most of places at the office buildings are built only for improving their job efficiency, so many business people are dissatisfied of insufficient rest environments and this means that the half or more of population in Seoul city is working for six days of a week in poor environments.

A large environment improvement project is in progress under the leadership of Seoul city with a long term and it aims to improve the quality of life. But business people, who are dependent on vertical structures of environmental places, can get benefits of the environmental places with horizontal structures only on weekend when they stop working, so what they truly need now, is comfortable rest places in offices.

However, the environment improvement project also aims to make city get close the nature in addition to improvement of the quality of life. Therefore, I propose some approach systems to improve the quality of rest places for residents living in office building, while the whole city gets close the nature.



Another approach: Green Virus


Virus cannot live alone. Host is a necessary element to help virus live and it means that host and virus keep a symbiotic relationship, not a simple natural enemy relationship.

Here, I thought it is a good idea to substitute these two concepts of virus and host for the nature and a city.

Green virus proposed will spread out a host called city through self-organizing like virus or living things with an incomplete structure changing flexibly, according to the changes of the surrounding environments.

Most buildings in a city have so complete structure.

This structure cannot hold new things any more, so it can’t go with fast change of modern society at last.

It means there is no more possibility of change and this fact disturbs development of the entire environment of a city.

Green virus carries out programs that building needs newly after being setting at the outside of building like virus, which increases by infecting cells of organs and makes flexible possibility of change in building.


Type of Business: Diversification of a Unit


Various office business environments and various individual societies require various rest environments as various natural environments make various living things.

Program units from rest program matrix built according to characteristics of office environment and a type of Business can be applied quickly without putting lots of efforts in, according to many needs for various environments at the inside and outside of each office building and can cope with the future modification of programs due to change of environment, re-construction of programs and unexpected variables flexibly.
