When we go to the bank to make a deposit the goal is to grow our investment. This is the same concept for “Green Bank”; to invest in the environment through trees. Recycling is one of the most basic actions we can do to help the environment. The idea of “Green Bank” is when someone deposits a recyclable item through a special recycling bin the barcode on the item is scanned by the recycling bin and is then sent to a mobile device where the user collects points. There are four different levels: Sprout, Sapling, Tree and Forest. When enough points are collected to reach the last level (Forest), a tree is planted in a reforestation area on behalf of the user. The user can check on their level compared to others in their city and can even check how their city is doing compared to the rest of the world creating a friendly rivalry that benefits the global environment. The goal of “Green Bank” is to help preserve and protect the environment one tree at a time in a fun and friendly way that everyone can contribute.
