The magnetic flow is only concentrated at the points of contact between hob and the pan/pot base. If the base is smaller than the element, the sensing control will recognise its size and adjust the heat generated to within its perimeter, thus make it safe to use. The radiator is surrounded by a light-weight rubbery insulator, making it modern in appealing.
