Glòsòli desk lamp by Marco De Masi from italy
designer's own words:
A matter of material. Oled is an organic material as marble and as glass. Technology, transparency, thinness are on base concept this lamp.
This is angled to light up a restricted area of the desk, perfect for reading or writing without dazzling.
While I was searching the right angle for the lamp I was watching a video-clip of“Glósóli” by Sigur Rós. At the end of that video-clip some children ran on a hill on the sea. Reached the end of the hill they started to fly off from that edge.
Looking at that hill I've found the angle that works well for my lamp.
When I have discovered the meaning of that song's title, at the same time I have found the correct name and correct angle for the project.
The word Glósóli in icelandic language means Glowing Sun.
