The handle is designed using geometry as a tool for design exploration. Another factor defining the final design was study of anthropometrics of a human hand. Careful study was done to calculate the comfortable human grip and was documented using clay as it is a medium which was found very sensitive towards pressure applied by human palm and fingers. After the documentation in clay, it was made permanent by baking the clay model in the kiln. Then, using the mould and cast technique, a cast was obtained in plaster so that it could be worked on. Then step by step, using sand paper and carving tools, the form was carved to a door handle that had its essence derived out of geometry!
