designer's own words:
Life is a bitch...
...but now there is gareter.
Upgrade your life on the street and get yourself the all-new gareter. The mobility you are used to, collecting bottles, cans and boxes is guaranteed and cops won’t stop you anymore for using someone else’s shopping trolley. Within no time, gareter changes itself from collecting cart into shelter for the night. Dining on a comfy table gets true, and in addition you can customize gareter using the things you collected all day long.
A simple but solid construction of bended, zinc coated steel tubes and hinges of sheet metal build your frame. This structure mounted on four wheels, two with steer, is covered with a textile generating your bed. Boxes and bottles collected during the day are loaded off the cart and protected at night by the sheet metal building the gareter`s cargo area. Gareter once unfolded, is easily covered with a plastic sheet providing your personal area and shelters you against the odds of bad weather.
With the loading capacity of a shopping trolley combined with the simplicity of a deck chair, gareter could become the new home for the homeless.
